Upgrading to debian 12 bookworm | |

------------------------------ | |
It is so ironic always saying that I do not want to post the same | |
stuff both on my blog and on my phlog. But here I am again finding | |
myself not exactly crossposting but talking about the same thing on | |
both. | |
The difference perhaps is that here I feel more free to talk about | |
the technical part of the matter. Often only to remind myself of how | |
to do things. | |
I do have to remember some important things from now on: | |
(These points are notes to self) | |
1st. Read the documentation. It is not too long and it always saves | |
lots of time. | |
2nd. Remove all software that does not come with debian to ensure the | |
upgrade goes smooth. | |
This implies removing keys and extra repositories. | |
3rd. As usual edit /etc/apt/sources.list to | |
s/oldcodename/newcodename/ if you want 'stable'. | |
4th. Run 'apt update' and 'apt full-upgrade' (there is the | |
possibility of running a minimal system upgrade with 'apt upgrade | |
5th. Enjoy your new stable system :) |
